Effective tips for enjoying cleaning

When you don't see the results of your efforts, you start to lose motivation and interest in cleaning. However, there are tips and tricks that will not only make general and everyday cleaning much easier, but also enjoy the effort.

Don't put it off

We are all familiar with the famous saying "Don't put off until tomorrow what you can do today". People who don't like cleaning can find a thousand reasons to put it off. The longer we put it off, however, the more time we end up spending on it. To avoid feeling overwhelmed, it's a good idea to divide tasks up into days. For instance, you can vacuum and mop the floor on Monday, do the laundry and ironing on Wednesday and dedicate a few minutes to dusting on Saturday. This way, you don't have to find a few extra hours in your busy schedule to do a lot of cleaning.

Take things one step at a time

Doing several things at once can quickly wear you out and make you lose enthusiasm. It's a good idea to take things one step at a time: start with the most time-consuming task, like cleaning the cupboards or the balcony. Then you can move on to the floor, starting with sweeping and then vacuuming. Wet mopping is best postponed to the last stage so that the dust and dirt collected does not settle on the surfaces that are already clean. On the other hand, if you have time-consuming tasks, you can combine them, e.g. soak surfaces that require a long exposure to the product and do the laundry or clean the furniture in the meantime.

Pay attention to the little details

Good housekeeping involves more than just floors, dust and dishes. To create a clean and fresh flat, it's important to pay attention to the little details. Don't ignore hard-to-reach areas such as shelves, vases and window sills, where many bacteria accumulate. Also, don't forget to ventilate the room by opening the windows wide and leaving the room for a few minutes. This way, you refresh the air without wasting precious time heating the street.

Don't neglect the furniture

Furniture, like other parts of the flat, needs to be cleaned properly. It's not just kitchen chairs that usually need to be wiped down with food scraps or spilled drinks. Particular attention should be paid to items you rarely use, such as an easy chair which you rarely use to relax on. Upholstered upholstery is a major source of bacteria, so cleaning it with a hoover and attachment or a damp cloth is recommended. A more practical option is removable covers, which should be washed regularly. Don't forget about the mattress either: its surface should be cleaned every time you change the bedding, and the sides should be turned over at least once every few months.

Don't overburden yourself

To make cleaning fun, don't overburden yourself with everything at once. As mentioned before, break it up into smaller steps. It is also important to use the right cleaning products. It is a fallacy to think that using a lot of cleaner will result in a better clean. In fact, it will only make your job more difficult. A small amount of kitchen sink cleaner is usually sufficient, the main thing is to spread it well over the surface. Also, when working with chemicals, remember to wear gloves to protect your hands and a respirator to protect your respiratory system.

Take your time

Of course, you want to finish cleaning and get back to your day-to-day activities as quickly as possible. However, rushing can only create the illusion of cleanliness and order. Firstly, you may miss cleaning certain areas such as carpets, dust or shelves in a hurry. Secondly, some cleaning products need time to work. Before using a particular product, read the instructions carefully to see how long the product should last.

It's time to put ideas into practice.
